Snakes & Ladders Rivals — Privacy Policy
Last updated October 2026
This privacy policy explains what information Snakes & Ladders Rivals ("the game", "we", "us") handles, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. The game is made by Mobinge.
The short version: there are no accounts, no ads and no chat. Online play sends the name you choose and your moves to our game server, where they are deleted within 24 hours. Usage statistics and crash reports are sent only if you allow them.
1. Playing on your device
Play vs Computer and Pass & Play work entirely on your device. Nothing about these games is sent to us, except the anonymous usage statistics and crash reports described in section 4, and only if you allow them.
2. Online Private Room
When you create or join an online room, the game sends the following to our game server (snakesladders.mobinge.com, hosted on Amazon Web Services):
- the name you choose for online play. It is shown to the other players in your room;
- your room's invite code, your seat, and your moves and dice results during the game.
This data is used only to run the game and to let you reconnect if your connection drops. It is kept for up to 24 hours after the room's last activity and then deleted automatically. Invite codes stop working after 2 hours.
You don't need an account, email address or phone number to play online, and there is no chat between players. You can use any name you like; it doesn't have to be your real name.
When you share an invite code, your phone's own share sheet sends it through the app you choose (for example WhatsApp or Messages). We don't see or store who you share it with.
3. Information stored on your device
The game saves on your device:
- the name you last used for online play, so you don't have to type it again;
- while an online game is in progress, a random key that lets you rejoin your seat. It is removed when the game ends or you leave it;
- your answer to the usage statistics question (section 4).
This information stays on your device. It is removed when you delete the game.
4. Usage statistics and crash reports (only if you allow them)
The first time you open the game, it asks whether it may send anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. If you choose "No thanks", nothing is sent. You can change your answer at any time with Privacy on the game's menu.
If you allow it, the game uses two Google services:
- Firebase Analytics records how the game is used. For example, it records which mode you choose, whether games are finished and how they end, and whether creating or joining a room worked. With these events it also receives your device model, operating system, app version, and approximate region (country or region, worked out from your IP address).
- Firebase Crashlytics sends a report if the game crashes. The report contains what went wrong in the game's code, your device model, operating system and app version.
Both use a random ID created by the game, not your name or anything that identifies you. These events never include the name you choose, invite codes or anything you type. The game does not use your device's advertising ID, and nothing is used for advertising.
Usage statistics are kept for 2 months and crash reports for 90 days, then deleted by Google. If you turn this off later, the game stops sending and clears its random statistics ID from your device.
Google processes this data for us as a service provider. See Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and Firebase's privacy information (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
5. Server logs and daily totals
Like most online services, our servers record IP addresses and connection times to run, secure and troubleshoot the service. These logs are kept for up to 14 days.
Our game server also keeps daily totals, such as how many rooms were created and how many games were finished. These are only counts, with nothing about who played.
6. Sharing
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising. We only use these service providers, and only for the purposes above:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts our game server;
- Google (Firebase), for usage statistics and crash reports, if you allow them;
- Apple and Google, which distribute the game through their app stores under their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. When they do, they protect it as required by applicable data protection law.
7. Security
The game talks to our server and to Firebase over encrypted connections (HTTPS and secure WebSockets). Online game data is kept only briefly, as described above.
8. Your choices and rights
- Turn usage statistics and crash reports on or off at any time with Privacy on the game's menu.
- Play offline only. Online data is created only when you use Online Private Room.
- Delete the game to remove everything it stored on your device.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data. If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we use usage statistics and crash reports on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with Privacy on the menu. We handle online play data because you ask us to provide online play, and we keep server logs because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. To make a request, email support@mobinge.com. Online game data is deleted automatically within 24 hours. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Children's privacy
Snakes & Ladders Rivals is suitable for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what's described in this policy. Online rooms are private and can only be joined with an invite code. There is no chat, and other players see only the name chosen for the game. We suggest children use a nickname rather than their real name. Usage statistics and crash reports are only sent if allowed on the device.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, for example if we add ads in the future, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Where the law requires it, we'll also ask for your consent in the game.
